Youth

We teach our children that God loves everyone, no exceptions.

Here at Peace Church we have a vibrant and active youth program.  We have Sunday school every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 am.  We have an elementary age class (grades k-5) and a teen class (grades 6-12).  Every Sunday we also offer Children’s Church.  The youth are invited forward for a children’s message during the service and then leave for their own lesson geared to their level.  Children’s Church consists of a Bible lesson accompanied by games or crafts to instill the message in a fun and active way.

During the year we have many annual mission projects, including Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, Souper Bowl in January, and participation in the Greensboro Beautiful community clean-up effort in the fall and spring.  In the summer months we offer a week-long program called Peace Village.

Our biggest event is an Easter Carnival the day before Easter Sunday.  Among the carnival offerings are games, pony rides, food, a bounce house, slide, bake sale, and an Easter egg hunt for children of all ages.  Over the years this event has grown significantly, becoming a big community outreach event attended by hundreds of people.  This is a project of the whole congregation as well as the youth.

Additional fun activities and mission projects are scheduled throughout the year.  These have included trips to Celebration Station, a local corn maze, bowling, indoor trampoline park and for the teens, a ski trip to Blowing Rock Conference Center in western North Carolina.  We teach that God loves everyone, no exceptions.  We keep our ministry focus open minded, creating an environment where children can seek and question.  While we don’t pretend to have all the answers,  at Peace Church children find a loving and caring environment,  where Jesus’ message of “love one another” is  the principle that guides our ministry.
